Pre-Treatment Instruction

Pre-Shave Guidelines

  • Shave the area to be treated ONE day before your appointment
  • Use a new 3-blade razor (NOT CLIPPERS)
  • Shave with aloe vera or perfume-free/hypoallergenic shaving products
  • Take your time and ensure good lighting
  • If you make any cuts, contact CleanSlate Laser Clinic (treatment may need to be postponed)

For Brazillian/Bikini Area

  • If you want to keep a hair patch, shave around this area to indicate the area you want to preserve
Please note: CleanSlate Clinic does not offer shape sculpting as it's impossible to attain the level of accuracy which may be desired

Post-Treatment Care

After your treatment, you'll leave with a sterile dressing over the site. Follow these instructions carefully:

Immediately After Treatment

  • A mild "sunburn-like" effect or pinkness in the treated area is normal but rare and usually passes quickly
  • This isn't real sunburn, only heat permeating back out through the skin

Between Treatments

  • ABSOLUTELY NO WAXING OR PLUCKING FROM NOW ON! (Common Mistake #1)
  • You can shave between treatments if necessary, but wait at least 48 hours after treatment

Future Considerations

  • If planning tattoo/permanent make-up or implants in/on an area after hair removal, wait at least 12-18 months
  • Do not assume all hair will be gone after the minimum treatment course

Treatment Schedule & Results

Treatment Frequency

  • Do not stop coming when your hair stops growing (Common Mistake #2)
  • You will need a minimum of 6-8 treatments spaced one month apart (28-35 days to be exact)
  • Facial hair can be treated at more regular intervals as it grows much faster
  • After 4 treatments, we will assess the hair and determine if more monthly treatments are needed
  • Once satisfied, you'll schedule a top-up appointment in 2-3 months

What to Expect

  • Each treatment removes 10-15% of the hair
  • Most people (80-90%) are happy with the result after 6-8 treatments
  • Facial hair on men is the most resilient and may require more treatments
  • Results depend on your suitability, number of treatments, age, hormones, ancestry, medications, and medical conditions
  • Body hair (thinner/softer) typically responds faster than pubic hair (coarser)

Top-up Treatments

  • Some hair can remain dormant for long periods or emerge at certain life stages
  • We can only target actively growing hair follicles
  • Periodic top-up treatments are beneficial for maintaining results
  • Special considerations apply for conditions like Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), where a maintenance approach may be used

Expected Results Timeline

While some clients see a noticeable difference after their first treatment, real results typically become apparent around the thirdtreatment. We start on lower settings and increase as you progress through your course to ensure skin safety and comfort. Thisapproach means results may be slower at first but will improve dramatically over time.
